From Ruidoso:
Mechem Drive,(NM Highway 48). Drive north on NM 48 (Mechem Dr.)
After you pass the Ski Apache turn-off on your left (NM 532,) continue about 1.5 miles and turn right on NM Highway 220 (Scenic Airport Road.)
Escondida is approximately 3.5 miles on the left, past the main entrance to the Ranches of Sonterra.
Turn left at the street sign and proceed one block to the next left. Thundering Paws is the first building on the right.
If you have passed Spencer theater on the Right, you have gone too far.
Directions From North (From Albuquerque, NM):
Take I-25 South for about 90 miles to Exit #139 – US 380 East.
Head east on US 380, for 73 miles and turn right on Highway 37. (Highway 37 is about 8 miles past Carrizozo.)
Take Hwy. 37 till it dead ends at NM 48 and turn right. (You will be climbing “Angus Hill”)
Drive another 2 miles and turn left on NM 220 – (Scenic Airport Road).
Escondida Dr. is about 4 miles on the left, Just before the entrance to Spencer Theater, which is on the right.
If you pass Spencer Theater, you’ve gone too far, turn around!
After turning left on Escondida, The first left is Lone Mesa Court, left on Lone Mesa,
Thundering Paws is the first Driveway on the right. Total mileage from Albuquerque: about 182 miles — 3 hours of driving time.
Directions from South (From El Paso, TX):
Take US 54 to Alamogordo, merge onto US 54/70 and proceed to Tularosa.
Merge right to US 70 East.
Drive about 30 miles to Ruidoso and turn left on Sudderth Drive.
Proceed west on Sudderth Drive and turn right on Mechem Drive, (NM Hwy. 48)
Drive north on NM 48. After you pass the Ski Apache turn-off on your left, continue about another mile.
Turn right on Highway 220 – (Scenic Airport Road).
Escondida Dr. is about 4 miles on the left, Just before the entrance to Spencer Theater, which is on the right.

Directions from East (Roswell, NM):
This is the scenic route through beautiful and historic Lincoln, NM.
Drive west on US 70 West for 46 miles to Hondo.
Turn right on US 380 West and drive through historic Lincoln.
After traveling about 8 miles past Lincoln, turn left on NM 220.Fort Stanton turn-off)
Drive 10 miles on this scenic road through Ft. Stanton, pass the Sierra Blanca Regional Airport, and the Spencer Theater.

After turning right on Escondida, The first left is Lone Mesa Court, left on Lone Mesa,
Thundering Paws is the first Driveway on the right.
Total mileage from Roswell: about 74 miles — 1 1/2 hours of driving time.
Directions from West (Las Cruces, NM):
Take US 70 to Alamogordo, merge onto US 54/70 and proceed to Tularosa.
